Building vocabulary, language, knowledge, and reading skills in striving readers, Steps to Advance Literacy Solutions targets the often-overlooked Language Comprehension strands of Scarborough’s Reading Rope while addressing key informational and literary reading goals. This program, available in digital and print, provides a plethora of supplemental resources for teachers as well as carefully scaffolded instructional path to complex text, with daily opportunities for students to practice and apply acquired skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Through vertically aligned topic-based units that integrate social studies, science, and literary texts, students work toward mastery of priority standards and become confident, on-level grade 4 readers.
