Building vocabulary, language, knowledge, and reading skills in striving readers, Steps to Advance Literacy Solutions targets the often-overlooked Language Comprehension strands of Scarborough’s Reading Rope while addressing key informational and literary reading goals. This program, available in digital and print, provides a carefully scaffolded instructional path to complex text, with daily opportunities for students to practice and apply acquired skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Through vertically aligned topic-based units that integrate social studies, science, and literary texts, students work toward mastery of priority standards and become confident, on-level grade 2 readers.
