Michelle Stone shared her passion for best practices as a Long Island and New York City teacher leader. Early in her career, she served as a labsite host for professional development from the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project and participated in their yearlong leadership groups where she contributed to the development of units of study, state-of-the-art literacy practices, and research. She later co-founded The Living Literacy Network and continues to support administrators, coaches, and teachers nationally in the area of balanced literacy, curriculum writing, and the implementation of reading and writing workshops.
