Jane Berger Konigsberg puts family and children at the center of her life. Jane raised a family of four children and 12 grandchildren in Rye Brook, New York. In 2006, at age 70, she returned to college, after leaving in her senior year in the 1950s, and received her degree. Writing this children’s book fulfills a lifelong dream. Jane believes the feeling of “being left out” is universal, but more pronounced in children. This book is for them.

Petronela Dostalova graduated from the Cambridge School of Art with an MA in Children’s Book Illustration. Petronela was born in the former Czechoslovakia and grew up in a small village near the Hungarian border called Borsa, Slovakia. Her work was shortlisted for the 2021 Bologna Illustrator Exhibition. She lives and works in Tattingstone, England with her partner Dan and rescue dog Haribo. Petronela enjoys muddy dog walks and estuary swims.
