Book Reviews

An expression of encouragement to small children who feel lonely and frightened as they tuck into bed, this vibrantly illustrated picture book begins with Wolf Cub curled up in her den... Celebrate this cub as she finds even young members have roles to perform with their pack!

—Kirkus Reviews

Writing from the Abenaki tradition, Bruchac’s simple, emotional story conveys the power of the group and the value of honoring one’s contributions. The impressionistic oil paintings energize the telling with strong scenes of sorrow giving way to song.
